Welcome to the Bobbins Middle Earth PBM
site. This site is intended as a resource guide for new players of the 1650 &
2950 scenario run by Middle Earth Games. If you have any comments you would like to make about this site, please email bobbins@middleearthgames.com Middle Earth PBM is a Play By Mail
(PBM) game which is defined as 'a classic confrontation between Good and Evil' and is set
in the fantasy world created by J.R.R Tolkien. The 1650 scenario is set
approximately a thousand years before the events laid out in the Lord Of The Rings.
The 2950 scenario takes place at approximately the same time as Frodo, Sam and the rest of
the fellowship set forth to destroy the One Ring. The scenario's are strategic
wargames involving 25 players split into teams who must co-operate with each other to
achieve victory. There are 10 players of Good (Free Peoples) facing 10 players of
Evil (Dark Servants) and 5 Neutrals who must decide an allegiance before games end.
This is an intensive, high diplomacy game! Communication between players on all
sides is the key to success. If you prefer a quiet postal PBM game, where
communication is restricted to the GM and yourself, then you will not appreciate
this! If however, you want an experience which includes army warfare,
assassinations, economic management, dragons, powerful magical artefacts, personal
one-on-one combat, diplomacy, espionage and intensive contact with your fellow team
members, then get in contact with Harlequin and sign up to be involved! These pages include strategy guides and
information for the nations of the 1650 and 2950 scenario. Most of the information
on these pages has come from (now defunct) 'Mouth of Sauron' fanzine. The 1650 Free People
has all the strategy guides for all 10 Freep positions for Woodmen to Noldo, as well as
start-up information, initial characters and Pop centres. The 1650 Dark Servants
has all the strategy guides I could find for all 10 DS positions from the Witch King to
the Dark Lts. Each page has the starting characters, population centres and special
abilities of each nation. The 1650 Neutrals
has all the usual strategy guides and background information from the Corsairs to the
Easterlings. 1650 Characters has
a list of every nations' starting characters (sorted by nation) and their abilities, the
artefacts they hold, and a list of who are probably the top 10 starting characters. 1650 Artefacts
has information about each of the artefacts to be found in 1650, as well as their powers. The 2950 Free
People has start-up information, initial characters and Pop centres. The 2950 Dark
Servants Each page has the starting characters, population centres and special
abilities of each of the 10 Dark Servant nations. The 2950 Neutrals
has all the background information from the Corsairs to the Khand Easterlings. 2950 Characters
has a list of every nations' starting characters (sorted by nation) and their abilities,
the artefacts they hold, and a list of who are probably the top 10 starting characters. 2950 Artefacts

interesting articles I have been able to find off the net and from the Mouth of Sauron
ezine. Dragons is a list of Dragons

for all the encounters you should find (good and bad). Riddles is (go on guess)! |
